California Dreamboat

Whew! We made it! We just got back last night from Southern California, where we went to celebrate Joe's cousin Jenny's wedding. I'd kind of been dreading this trip for months-- visions of hours spent in cramped airplane quarters with mutinous passengers throwing their peanuts at us while the baby screamed bloody murder and had poop explosions and grew horns... but anyways, we did it! Mason did a million times better than I had even hoped-- he slept about half the time both coming and going, and was slightly fussy here and there, but boobs and Benadryl to the rescue and everything's all good :)
We enjoyed showing him off to family who hadn't met him, and the wedding was so fun-- he even napped long enough to let Mommy and Daddy get some dancing in!
New stuff... he's still rolling over and can't get back in the middle of sleeping, so we have to go flip him and soothe him back to sleep-- can't wait till he learns how to roll both ways! He's finally found his thumb but still often prefers to suck up to 7 or 8 fingers at a time, wiping the drool all over himself so he always smells like stale breath. I thought babies were supposed to always smell baby fresh?!!

He is very "talky" and enjoys seeing how loud he can screech. He's starting to put everything in his mouth and can reach out and grab toys or our mouths and noses. We think everything he does is so amazing and wonderful that we usually don't even mind when he pulls out chunks of our hair!
Other firsts in June-- first time in the pool, first cold, first time meeting Jan and Mark (Leah's family from New Mexico).
Here are some pics:
